Triumph of the Heart

The events take place at Auschwitz. A prisoner manages to escape from the camp. A punishment is imposed in return. Ten men are picked and shut in an underground cell. One of those picked begs. At that moment a priest steps forward. His name is Maximilian Kolbe and he is Polish. He asks to take the man’s place. The request is granted. Days pass in the cell. Hunger and fear drive the men apart. Kolbe tries to build something between them. What they talk about is the humanity they share. The film is based on real events. Marcin Kwaśny and Christopher Sherwood appear in the hundred and eighteen minute film, an American production Anthony D’Ambrosio finished in 2025.
