Trollhunters: Rise of the Titans

Three ancient Titans lying beneath the town of Arcadia wake up and are about to remake the world. Jim the Trollhunter, the wizard Douxie, and the alien siblings Aja and Krel all come together. This time there is no single enemy; they have to fight on three fronts at once, and Jim has lost his armour. The film is the shared finale of three series: Trollhunters, 3Below and Wizards. It closes Guillermo del Toro's Tales of Arcadia, and that is also its problem: instead of building a new story it has to gather the entire cast in one place. Directed by Johane Matte, Francisco Ruiz Velasco and Andrew L. Schmidt. Produced by DreamWorks Animation, distributed by Netflix. The decision at the end caused real argument among viewers of the shows: to take back every loss the film restarts the story itself, and part of what happened up to then is undone. Both the people who found that emotionally right and the people who found it cheap have a case. Who it is for: anyone who watched all three series and follows del Toro's animated universe. Who it is not for: newcomers. The film explains almost nothing to anyone who does not know the shows, it is short, the cast is large, and some of them are dispatched with a single line.
