Two of a Kind

A confidence woman and a lawyer talk a carnival grifter into a job. What he has to do is pass himself off as the long lost son of an elderly, wealthy couple. The plan is built on getting hold of the inheritance. But things get tangled once the man playing the part meets people who treat him as a son in earnest. The film shows the swindle not as a game of wits but as an emotional trap. Whom a lie wounds more is the real question. It is a short, tight work out of the film noir vein. Edmond O’Brien and Lizabeth Scott appear in Henry Levin’s seventy five minute American film, completed in 1951.
