Uncertain

The documentary is about a town in Texas called Uncertain. Ninety four people live there. The lake is what the town lives on. Fishing is done on that lake. An invasive water plant, though, has begun to cover the surface. As the plant spreads, the fish grow scarce. The income of the town is put at risk along with them. The film follows three people. Henry is a fisherman of seventy four whose living comes straight off the lake. Wayne is a middle aged man who has been in prison and spends his time hunting. Zach is twenty one, diabetic, and struggling with drink. Each of them is working at a knot of his own. Even where the name of the town came from is disputed. One account has it left over from a surveyor’s hesitation on an early map. Another has it that steamboat captains found docking there impossible. The eighty two minute documentary watches the lake and the town together. It is an American production Anna Sandilands and Ewan McNicol finished in 2015.
