Sarojini is a well known dancer. She spent her years on the stage. Her name became known across the country. But at home things did not go the same way. She always kept a distance from her daughter Aditi. Aditi is someone who stands on her own feet. The account rests on a reckoning between the two across one night. The conversation takes place on the anniversary of the father’s death. Old hurts come out one by one. The mother defends the choices she made. The daughter tells what she felt growing up. As the night goes on the tone changes. Aparna Sen and Debashree Roy take the leads, with Prosenjit Chatterjee also in the cast, in Rituparno Ghosh’s Indian film of 1994.
