What Unseen Wonder Is About
The order of a small fishing village is upset by the arrival of the young wife of a man who has gone abroad to work. She means to live in her father’s house, but the house has in the meantime become a tavern. From then on she begins to play with the ambitions and interests of the people in the village; she sees what each of them is weak for and uses it. The film does not idealise the village community; it shows how gossip, jealousy and hypocrisy work. The account declares the woman neither guilty nor a victim. Savina Gersak plays the lead in Zivko Nikolic’s ninety two minute Yugoslav film, completed in 1984.
