What Untamable Angelique Is About
The fourth film in the series and not a story to watch on its own. Angélique has learned that her husband Joffrey de Peyrac did not die at the stake, and she sets out to find him. The search takes her to the Mediterranean, to waters of corsairs and slave markets. Michèle Mercier is Angélique again and Robert Hossein is Joffrey again. Bernard Borderie directed. French costume adventure of the sixties: fast, colourful, loosely attached to history. The pattern of putting the heroine in danger so she can be rescued looks very dated now.
