Void

The writer Eero cannot get his new novel started; his partner Pihla, an actor, is on the edge of an international breakthrough. Neither will give up a career, and their relationship has never been worse. Aleksi Salmenperä sets the price of success beside the misery of failure and plays both for comedy, but when the joke is over what remains is the particular silence of a partner who does not actually understand. The tension between art and what will sell runs underneath the whole film. Tommi Korpela plays Eero and Laura Birn plays Pihla, with Hannu-Pekka Björkman and Minna Haapkylä alongside. Salmenperä wrote the screenplay himself. It had its world premiere on 16 June 2018.
