We Beat the Dream Team

The documentary tells of the college select team put together before the 1992 Olympics. The job of these young players was to face the Olympic squad in its preparation practices. On the other side stood a roster that included Larry Bird, Magic Johnson and Michael Jordan. The film’s title carries a claim that came out of those practices. Grant Hill, Chris Webber, Penny Hardaway, Bobby Hurley, Jamal Mashburn and Allan Houston tell those days years later in their own words. The story was not widely known and the documentary makes that its starting point. The account stands with the college players and shows the court through their eyes. Michael Tolajian’s eighty three minute American documentary was completed in 2025.
