What Where's That Fire Is About
Captain Viking is at the head of a fire crew. The crew’s competence leaves a good deal to be desired. At the same time somebody is planning to steal the crown jewels. The firemen know nothing about the plot, but their incompetence wrecks it. That is exactly how the thieves get caught. The film builds its comedy on misunderstandings and coincidence. Will Hay, Moore Marriott and Graham Moffatt are together again. It is one of the known British comedies of 1939. The seventy three minutes are given to a single plot. The account turns the fire station into a comic stage and builds no heroism out of it. Marcel Varnel’s British film was completed in 1939.
