What ZZ Top - That Little Ol' Band from Texas Is About
Three young blues obsessives in Texas start a band: Billy Gibbons, Dusty Hill and Frank Beard. For fifty years the line-up never changes. The documentary covers how it began: small clubs, local radio, gear that fitted in one car. Then the period of touring Texas and bringing live animals onto the stage, and after that the enormous breakthrough of the eighties video age. One detail: the member without a beard is the one called Beard. Sam Dunn directs; ninety-one minutes. All three of them speak, with Billy Bob Thornton and Joshua Homme commenting. For a band that lasted this long, the real question is the one asked here: why did these three never break up?
