What 36 Hours Is About
Major Jefferson Pike is one of a handful of men who know where the Allied landings are going to happen. He wakes in an American military hospital, is told the war ended years ago, and is treated with great patience by a doctor who seems to want nothing more than to help him recover his memory. All of it is a set built by German intelligence, and the kindness is an interrogation. George Seaton adapted it from Roald Dahl's 1944 story Beware of the Dog, moving the trap from occupied France into Germany and the prisoner from an RAF pilot to an American officer.
