Anasuya is the daughter of a wealthy, domineering mother who has decided every detail of her life. One day she has had enough, runs away and takes refuge in the village house of her mother's childhood friend. There she meets Anand: the son of the house, idle, unable to hold any job, constantly scolded by his own mother. The two are opposites and both are running from their families. Trivikram Srinivas writes and directs. Samantha Ruth Prabhu plays Anasuya and Nithiin plays Anand, with Anupama Parameswaran in the cast. Trivikram Srinivas is known in Telugu cinema as a writer of dialogue, and the character of his films comes from the tempo of speech. The narrative runs in the shape of a family comedy and the humour comes from the characters misreading each other. What interests it is parental pressure; both characters were shaped by their mothers, and the narrative sets the two side by side. It did well commercially and Samantha's part was well received. Its limits are length and formula; in the second half the narrative turns to familiar family drama resolutions and the songs break the pace. Who it is for: viewers who like Telugu romantic comedy and family films. Who it is not for: it is long, predictable, and the humour rests on local play with dialogue.
