A Boyfriend for My Wife

Tenso wants to leave his wife. But he cannot say it. Tana is difficult; she objects to everything, quarrels with everyone, and her husband cannot get a sentence out. Tenso asks a friend. The friend knows a method: a professional seducer will be hired. The man will make her fall in love, she will leave her husband, and Tenso will not have to say anything. The man hired does his work well. The plan proceeds. Then Tenso sees his wife with someone else and the situation changes. Juan Taratuto directs. The matter it treats is not being able to speak; all the comedy comes from one sentence going unsaid. The narrative does not leave Tana merely difficult and shows her side in the second half. The character Valeria Bertuccelli plays carries the film. The narrative follows the romantic comedy shape and the ending goes where expected. Its limit is predictability; the premise is familiar, the development conventional, and the ending easy. Who it is for: viewers who like Argentine comedy and romantic comedy.
