What A Crime in Paradise Is About
Blaise, a coarse man on a farm in the French countryside, kills his wife Lulu and gets clear of the court thanks to the local lawyer's peculiar advice: present yourself as a man with no record who was ground down by his wife for years. He is acquitted and becomes a hero in the town. Then a woman who greatly resembles Lulu arrives. Jean Becker adapted a story by Marcel Aymé and holds the register between black comedy and rural satire. Jacques Villeret plays Blaise.
