A No-Hit No-Run Summer

Martin is twelve years old. Baseball is the thing he cares about. He wants to play on the neighbourhood baseball team. He goes to the tryouts. He does not make the cut. It hurts him. His father steps in. The man stands by his son. The man puts together a B team. He gathers the children. Practice begins. They play through the summer. Winning does not come easily. Hope and disappointment run side by side. Unexpected things happen on the field. Father and son spend a great deal of time together. What is between them changes over that summer. Patrice Robitaille and Pier-Luc Funk appear in the one hundred four minute film, a Canadian production Francis Leclerc finished in 2008.
