AC/DC - Let There Be Rock

A concert film shot on 9 December 1979 at the Pavillon de Paris. AC/DC play thirteen songs, opening with Live Wire, passing through Highway to Hell and Whole Lotta Rosie and closing on Let There Be Rock. Interviews with members of the band are cut in between the concert footage. Angus Young's roaming across the stage and out into the crowd is the spine of the film. Eric Dionysius and Eric Mistler directed it together and it reached cinemas in September 1980. Its real importance lies elsewhere: the singer Bon Scott died on 19 February 1980, only two months after the shoot. That leaves this as the last major concert of his in front of a camera. For anyone wanting to see the band as it was then, its unrehearsed energy, and how Scott held a stage, it is the only address.
