Action Hero Biju

Biju is an honest police officer at a station in Kerala. The narrative is not built on a case; it follows the daily work. Neighbours fighting, lost phones, family complaints, young men selling drugs, petitions arriving at the station, and political pressure constantly cutting in. In a week Biju is getting married and has to find time to arrange that too. Abrid Shine does not build his police film on heroism. The narrative is made of episodes, most taken from real cases; some scenes use non-professional actors and real locations. The result is not a plot but the daily condition of a job. Nivin Pauly plays Biju. The film counted among the productions that changed the register of police narratives in Malayalam cinema. Who it's for: Viewers who like Malayalam cinema, realistic police narratives, and episodic films. Who it's not for: There is no central story, which will not satisfy some viewers. Some sections are also disconnected from each other.
