Addicted to Acting

The Ernst Busch Academy is one of Germany’s leading acting schools. Hundreds apply to it every year. Getting into the programme is not easy. The director Andres Veiel picks four of those accepted. He makes the choice at random. He then keeps the camera on them for four years. Four years is the length of the training. Over that time the students learn the craft. Over the same time they turn into adults. In the end they are all looking for a break. The documentary follows that change step by step. The account stays inside the school. The German title of the film is Die Spielwütigen. Andres Veiel directed the hundred and eight minute documentary. The German production was finished in 2004.
