I Feel in Love

Şakir works at an advertising agency: middle-aged, married, quiet, his life running along the same line for years. The sight of Sibel, a young model he catches a glimpse of in the agency car park, turns all of it upside down. Şakir is a beginner at this sort of thing, takes tactical advice from his friends, works up the nerve to declare himself over the telephone, dials the wrong number and ends up confessing to İnci from the same office. After that it gets away from him entirely. Ertem Eğilmez directed this Turkish version of the American comedy The Woman in Red, released a year earlier; Artun Yeres wrote the adaptation. Şener Şen here is not a gangster or a landowner but an ordinary man wrestling with his own timidity, and the whole comedy comes out of that embarrassment. Nevra Serezli plays his wife Güzin and Ayşen Gruda plays İnci. The score is by Melih Kibar.
