Autumn

Yusuf was a university student of twenty-two when he went to prison. Ten years later he is released on health grounds and goes back to his mountain village on Turkey's eastern Black Sea coast, where the only person waiting for him is his sick, elderly mother. His father died while he was inside, his sister has moved to the city, and there is nobody left in the village but old people. In a tavern he goes to with his childhood friend Mikail he meets Eka, a young Georgian woman. Neither of them has time. Özcan Alper's first feature, with the other languages of that region heard alongside Turkish. A quiet film about a lost generation, in a landscape sliding from autumn into winter.
