What Bhool Bhulaiyaa Is About
Siddharth, who lives in America, returns with his wife Avni to his family’s old palace in Varanasi. The relatives warn him that the place is cursed and cannot be lived in; he ignores every one of them and moves in anyway. When inexplicable things start happening he has to call in Aditya, an eccentric psychiatrist. Priyadarshan’s film is a remake of the 1993 Malayalam picture Manichitrathazhu, and it holds horror, comedy and musical numbers inside a single story. Vidya Balan’s performance is why it is still remembered.
