What Black Sabbath: The End of The End Is About
Dick Carruthers's 2017 documentary records the last night of Black Sabbath's farewell tour. On 4 February 2017 the band walks onto a stage in Birmingham, the city where it all started, for the eighty-first and final concert of the tour. A career of almost half a century closes there. The film puts the concert footage together with tracks played in the studio and with Ozzy Osbourne, Tony Iommi and Geezer Butler talking. It touches on the band's own history, on Birmingham's factory past and on heavy metal coming out of it. A farewell record that does not surrender to nostalgia and shows the three men on stage at the age they actually are.
