Casey Carlson A Annalisa Bortolin L Laura Planting What Bon Voyage, Charlie Brown (and Don't Come Back!) Is About
Charlie Brown, Linus, Peppermint Patty and Marcie go to France on a student exchange, with Snoopy and Woodstock following. Where they land there is an old château and an animosity nobody explains; the unsigned letters Charlie receives and the coldness of the man who runs the place turn out to connect. Bill Melendez made it as the fourth Peanuts feature and did something unusual: behind the story stand the Second World War and the occupation. It keeps the measure of a children's film and ties itself to real history at the end. Drawings of real locations were used for the passages in London and France. Who it is for: viewers who like the Peanuts characters and children's films that go somewhere unexpected. Who it is not for: anyone expecting continuous humour, since it turns serious halfway.
