BTS: Yet to Come in Cinemas

The film is the cinema version of a concert given in Busan on 15 October 2022. It was held at the Busan Asiad Main Stadium, it was free, and the roughly fifty thousand people who filled the stadium got their places by ballot. It was streamed at the same time. Yoon Dong Oh directs. The cinema version opened on 1 February 2023. The concert had a purpose: to support Busan's bid for the 2030 World Expo. The city later lost that bid; in the vote of November 2023 the Expo went to Riyadh. For the group the concert marks the end of a period. The members were moving into individual work because of compulsory military service, and this became one of the last large stages the seven of them shared for a long time. The cinema version recut the stage footage; the camera angles differ from the broadcast and the sound was mixed for a hall. There is no material outside the concert; no backstage, no interviews, no narrative sections. Who it is for: BTS listeners and anyone who likes watching concert films in a cinema. Who it is not for: for a viewer with no interest in the group there is one thing here for two hours, and that is the setlist.
