What Chaos Is About
A bourgeois couple in Paris watch a young woman being beaten in front of their car one night, and drive on without helping. She survives. Hélène, unable to leave it alone, finds her in hospital and then takes her in. What comes out is the story of how the young woman was trafficked into prostitution and how she has been trying to get out. The two of them set about surviving and then about settling accounts. Coline Serreau runs comedy and hard criticism at the same time: bourgeois comfort, the invisibility of women inside their own families, and the trade in women, all in one story. Catherine Frot, Vincent Lindon and Rachida Brakni lead.
