Chevolution

The documentary takes up a single photograph. The photograph is called Guerrillero Heroico. Alberto Díaz Gutiérrez took the picture. In it is Ernesto Che Guevara. The photographer is Cuban. It spread after Guevara’s death. In time it appeared on posters and on shirts. Each group loaded it with a meaning of its own. The film follows that journey step by step. How the photograph was taken is set out. Then its commercial use is taken up. Among those speaking are Gerry Adams and Gael García Bernal. Antonio Banderas and Tom Morello appear in it as well. Luis Lopez and Trisha Ziff directed the eighty six minute documentary. The Mexican production was finished in 2008.
