What Cry Danger Is About

Rocky Mulloy has served five years of a life sentence when a stranger's testimony gets him out. He walks free with one thing on his mind: clearing the friend still inside for the same crime. The trouble is that the testimony was not clean either, the missing money has never turned up, and nobody in Los Angeles is telling him the truth. He moves into a trailer park and starts digging. Robert Parrish's noir is done in eighty minutes and does not waste a scene. Dick Powell plays Rocky, with Rhonda Fleming and William Conrad opposite him. The dialogue is among the sharpest the genre produced.
