Out of prison, Eddie Taylor cannot get a clean start; no work, and his record arriving ahead of him at every door. When he is framed for a murder he did not commit, he has to run with his wife Joan and their baby. Escaping after being sentenced to death, he becomes an actual killer, condemning both of them to a life that ends on the road. One of Fritz Lang’s early American films, it is about how a society converts a man into a criminal step by step. Sylvia Sidney and Henry Fonda lead, in a story drawn partly from Bonnie and Clyde.
