Doraemon: Nobita's Dinosaur

Nobita finds a dinosaur fossil and revives it with one of Doraemon's devices, producing a hatchling named Piisuke. Once the animal grows it becomes impossible to keep at home, and the only solution is to take it back a hundred million years to its own time. When the journey by time machine lands in the wrong place the children are stranded in prehistoric America. Ayumu Watanabe made it as a remake of the first Doraemon feature of 1980, in the series' newer animation style. It keeps the measure of a children's film while carrying the theme of separation all the way through. It was among the most watched animated films in Japan that year. Who it is for: viewers who like the Doraemon series and families looking for animation. Who it is not for: adults entirely unfamiliar with the series.
