Dunderklumpen!

Dunderklumpen is a creature living alone in the Jämtland mountains of Sweden. One summer night at midsummer, unable to bear the loneliness any longer, he sets out to find friends. On the way he takes a child's toys with him and the child goes after him. So a chase begins along the shore of a lake. Directed by Per Åhlin, the film puts live action and animation together: drawn characters ride on top of real Swedish landscape. Beppe Wolgers and his son Jens appear in it; the musician Toots Thielemans is in the cast as well. The telling is aimed at children, but loss, loneliness and growing up are worked through openly. It is a film watched across generations in Sweden.
