The documentary takes up the health system in America. According to the film the system is broken. It also describes where the trouble comes from. The system was built to treat illness. Preventing illness comes second. The way money is made runs the same way. According to the film decisions are not taken for the patient. The subject has turned into a political fight in the capital. That fight runs over cost and access. But the film argues that is not the real problem. Meanwhile another approach is gaining ground. It rests on prevention and low cost. The documentary follows that effort too. Matthew Heineman and Susan Froemke made the hundred minute documentary. The American, Chinese and German coproduction was finished in 2012.
