R. S. Durai Senthilkumar's 2013 Tamil film follows Kunchithapatham, mocked in every area of his life because his name is considered ridiculous. Blaming his failures on it, he goes to an astrologer famous for giving lucky names and becomes Harish, after which his luck really does turn. The film builds this not as a supernatural event but as a question about where confidence comes from. Sivakarthikeyan's timing, carried over from television presenting, holds the comedy up. The second half turns into a marathon race, and the shift to a sports film template feels somewhat forced. Even so, what it says about names, identity and social mockery is unusually clear for mainstream Tamil comedy. Who it's for: viewers who like Tamil comedy and Sivakarthikeyan's early work. Who it's not for: anyone who will find the genre shift uneven, or bothered by local name jokes disappearing in translation.
