In 2008 Natasha Sindeeva, newly rich, decides to start an independent television channel in Russia and gathers around her a team of journalists who had found no place elsewhere. The channel, called Dozhd, begins as light and entertaining broadcasting, and things change once it starts showing what is happening in the streets; the cable companies drop it from their listings, the advertising stops, the team shrinks. Over twelve years she tries both to keep the channel on air and to pay the price for it, and by 2020 very little is left. Vera Krichevskaya’s hundred and fifteen minute documentary tells this through footage shot from inside; it was completed in 2022.
