What Four Murders Are Enough, Darling Is About
A cheque for a million dollars ends up, purely by accident, in the flat of George Camel, a shy schoolteacher, and two criminal gangs start killing each other over it. As the bodies pile up Camel is taken for a mass murderer, and he cleverly uses that terrifying reputation to win the respect and the affection of Sabrina, a reporter on the local paper. The game gets dangerous, because in the end both gangs will do anything to take the cheque. Oldrich Lipsky's 1971 comedy is a well known piece of Czechoslovak parody, inflating the American gangster film until it collapses.
