What Fox and His Friends Is About
Fox works at a fairground and has nobody. A lottery win changes his life overnight, but the circle the money brings does not like him; it uses him. His relationship with Eugen, who comes from a moneyed family, is a transaction from the first moment: how you speak, which fork you use, who owes what to whom. Fassbinder wrote it, directed it and played Fox himself. The German title means the fist-law of freedom. Set in a gay milieu, but the subject is class.
