What Frisky Is About
In a small Italian mountain town, things between the carabinieri marshal Carotenuto and Annarella the midwife are finally moving toward an engagement. At the same time the young carabiniere Stelluti and Maria are preparing to marry. Then Stelluti is posted to another town, and distance, gossip and a small scandal put both couples to the test. Luigi Comencini's film follows Bread, Love and Dreams, made the year before. Vittorio De Sica and Gina Lollobrigida are opposite each other again. One of the best-loved comedy series of post-war Italy: light, and well written.
