Raoul sees that his wife Solange is unhappy and cannot bear it. His solution is to approach a stranger in a restaurant and offer him the job of attending to her. The man accepts, the three begin living together, and Solange is still not happy. Bertrand Blier takes bourgeois marriage and two men trying to please one woman and makes both men ridiculous. Gérard Depardieu and Patrick Dewaere play the men and Carole Laure the woman.
