Hitler - Never Heard of Him

In 1963 the twenty two year old Bertrand Blier called eleven people of his own generation into a studio and asked them about their lives. The documentary is nothing but the record of those conversations. The young people talk about work, family, money, belief and morals. The title points to how far away the war had become for them. The footage was taken five years before May 1968, and the air of that time can be sensed in the talk. These young people are not revolutionaries yet, but something is stirring; that is the film’s case. The account adds no commentary and leaves what was said as it is. The ninety five minutes are given to a single inquiry. Bertrand Blier’s French documentary was completed in 1963.
