What Good Ol' Freda Is About
Freda Kelly is seventeen, a shy girl working in a Liverpool office who spends her lunch breaks at the Cavern Club watching a local band. The band turns out to be the Beatles, and Freda is hired as their secretary. For eleven years she runs the fan club, answers the letters, deals with the families, and tells nobody anything about what she sees. Ryan White's documentary is built on Freda speaking for the first time in fifty years. Ringo Starr cleared the music for it. Freda says there are still things she will not tell, and that is exactly where the film's pull comes from.
