What Hanasaku Iroha the Movie: Home Sweet Home Is About
Ohana works at the Kissuiso hot spring inn. Sorting through the books in the staff room, she comes across one of Denroku's old log books. What is written in it is years old: her mother Satsuki, at exactly the age Ohana is now, in the same inn and the same rooms. Ohana has always known her mother as someone who ran from home. The log book describes a different girl. The film sets the two times side by side, and understanding her mother and understanding herself arrive at the same point. Masahiro Ando directs; sixty-six minutes. It follows the television series of the same name, broadcast in 2011, with Kanae Itou voicing Ohana. It is a P.A. Works production, from a series known for drawing the daily running of an inn in detail.
