Hector

Hector is left at an orphanage as a child and his family never comes back for him. Thirty-five years later he is still there; the people around him are children and he goes on seeing the world the way they do. Then a forgotten aunt remembers that he exists and takes Hector off to work in her husband's bakery. Stijn Coninx directed this Belgian comedy with Urbanus in the lead; he was a comedian Flemish audiences had known for years. The film remained the most watched Flemish production in Belgium until 1990 and did well in the Netherlands too. The humour does not mock its hero for his innocence; it sets him beside the calculating people around him.
