There is a Lion in Every Heart

Zeynel works as a night watchman, but what he really wants is to join the police. His friend Danyal takes whatever day work he can get. The same obstacle stands in front of both of them: neither has a primary school certificate. So they sit down together to study and prepare for the exam. On the day of the exam Zeynel makes a sacrifice for Danyal, and because of it he cannot become a policeman. When the neighbourhood learns what happened, it steps in. Everyone does what they can to show that Zeynel deserves the job. The film tells solidarity not through grand words but at the scale of a neighbourhood. Zeki Alasya and Metin Akpınar take the leads, with Hulusi Kentmen also in the cast. Osman F. Seden’s eighty two minute Turkish film was completed in 1976.
