What How Poets Are Enjoying Their Lives Is About
Stepan Safranek, armed with his mother’s advice on finishing his studies, takes up his first post as an intern at the local hospital. His failure to adapt to local conditions and his sense of ethics about the profession do not suit colleagues long settled into the way things are done; while they are amused by the young man’s zeal, his troubles with his superiors grow, and in the end he is sent to the rural district doctor’s post that nobody wants. There he meets a love that is returned and decides to live in the north. Meanwhile his friend Kendy comes back to his home town as an assistant director to shoot a thirteen part series. Pavel Kriz appears in Dusan Klein’s hundred and two minute Czechoslovak film, completed in 1988.
