I Am What I Am 2

Gyun came to Shanghai to work and nobody there knows who he is. To pay for his father's treatment he agrees to represent the failing Chuanwu boxing gym at a martial arts tournament called Shanghai Fight Night. What stands in his way is not only experienced opponents but the way a city looks at someone from the provinces, and his own fear. Sun Haipeng's 2024 animation moves from the lion dancing of the first film into the ring. It belongs to the strand of recent Chinese animation interested in real movement and in class; this is not an ornamental fable but a story about people who work for a living. A hundred and thirty-three minutes, with fight scenes that flow as though drawn by hand.
