What ivans xtc. Is About
Ivan Beckman, one of the most sought-after agents in Hollywood, is dead. The film starts there and then goes back: Ivan's last days, the night he signs a major star to the company, the parties, the drugs, the phone calls. It becomes clear that everyone loved him. And that nobody really knew him. Bernard Rose directed the film from Tolstoy's novella The Death of Ivan Ilyich, moving the story into present-day Hollywood. Danny Huston takes the lead, with Peter Weller as the star. The film was shot on early digital cameras, on a very small budget and largely improvised. Death stops nobody here; everyone gets on with the job the next day.
