Danny Huston

Danny Huston takes the lead in ivansxtc., from 1999. Kim Newman, writing for the British Film Institute, introduces him as a man best known as a director, points to Mr. North, and finds him terrific in this leading part. On Newman's reading the Ivan he plays is a snake of a manipulator who knows how to close a deal and at the same time a fragile and sensitive man. That is the only review in the archive's 1,052 pages to treat him as an actor: the piece on 21 Grams, a film in his catalogue, carries his name in the plot summary alone and never reaches the credits. Film Independent nominated the performance in its male lead category at the 2003 ceremony.
