What Journey to the Beginning of Time Is About

Journey to the Beginning of Time, directed by Karel Zeman, follows four schoolboys on a journey back through time, conceived with inspiration from Jules Verne's Journey to the Center of the Earth; the visual design of its prehistoric creatures was made to recreate the illustrations of the celebrated Czech paleoart painter Zdeněk Burian. Zeman, known for blending stop motion, puppetry, and full scale models, is often regarded as a successor to Georges Méliès. Who it's for: anyone curious about an early Czechoslovak special effects classic inspired by Jules Verne and built on celebrated paleoart.
