Julia Misbehaves

Julia and William married and were separated soon afterwards. The cause was that William’s family did not think her their equal. Many years pass and the two do not meet again. Their daughter grows up with her father. When the daughter is to be married she invites her mother to the wedding. The family, and William’s mother in particular, are not pleased by the invitation. Julia comes all the same and the order of the house is shaken. The film handles the difference of class in the shape of a comedy. Greer Garson and Walter Pidgeon take the leads, with Elizabeth Taylor and Peter Lawford also in the cast, in Jack Conway’s American film of 1948.
