What La vida en un hilo Is About
After the sudden death of her husband a young widow leaves her small town to begin again in the city. On the train she meets a fortune teller, and he tells her the life she would have led had she never met the man she has buried. The film brings that told life onto the screen as well, so that the woman sees her own past set beside a possibility she never lived. The account gives regret in no accusing tone and shows instead how large a part chance plays. In Spanish cinema of 1945 this construction was out of the ordinary. Conchita Montes plays the lead in Edgar Neville’s ninety two minute Spanish film, completed in 1945.
